I know I have said this to you before, but you are priceless. Derek shared with me your words of encouragement and he feels so lucky to have you in his life. So do we. As a parent, your mentoring my child means the world. Derek thinks highly of you and I truly appreciate your good role modeling.I guess it's true, it does take a village to raise a child. He never gives up. He’s got a gift for being able to see the swing (although he makes good use of technology to show you what he sees) and is very creative and energetic in finding ways to get you to see and feel a swing with which you can play confidently and consistently. I remember Johnny Miller saying Dave built his swing the way players like Ben Hogan build swings – from the ground up, almost “home made”. He’s always taken the sameDave a care in working with me to help me build my swing – not a cookie cutter approach. In addition to time spent with Dave on the range and the other practice areas at Teal Bend, I have also benefitted greatly from our playing lessons – gaining an understanding on how to take what’s learned on the range to the course. I played about 8 months (hacked at the ball is a better description) and decided to take a few lessons to learn the game. Well, I found that there are lots of “golf instructors” out there. After several unsuccessful attempts with “golf instructors” and a lot of frustration on my part, my brother-in-law referred me to Dave Carr, the Teaching Pro at Teal Bend Golf Course. After my first one hour lesson with Dave, I realized that I had truly met a “Teacher of the Game of Golf”. Dave possesses the unique ability to look at each player/student, identify flaws and strong points and then explain them so you can understand and visualize each point. This has taught me how to make the proper corrections to my game. I have gone from a 22 handicap to a 15 handicap since I started taking lessons with Dave. If you want lessons from golf instructors, there are plenty out there. If you want to be taught how to play golf, then Dave Carr is your guy!
